Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using any CrownForge LLC service, including Questwright and future products (collectively, "the Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Services.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CrownForge LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). CrownForge LLC operates Questwright (questwright.app) and may operate additional products and services in the future. These Terms apply to all CrownForge products and services accessed through your CrownForge account. We may modify these Terms at any time by posting updated terms on this page. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Eligibility

During the beta period, you must be at least 18 years old to use Questwright.

By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If we discover that you are under 18, your CrownForge account will be terminated immediately and all associated data will be deleted.

In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable child safety laws, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We verify age at registration through date of birth collection. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information immediately.

3. CrownForge Account

To use certain features of the Services, you must create a CrownForge account. Your CrownForge account provides single sign-on (SSO) access to all CrownForge products and services, including Questwright and any future products. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information during registration
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account across all CrownForge services

You may not share your account with others or allow others to access the Services using your credentials. A single CrownForge account grants access to all CrownForge products — you do not need separate accounts for each product.

4. User Content and Intellectual Property

4.1 Your Content

You may create content while using Questwright, including but not limited to characters, campaigns, backstories, and other creative works ("User Content").

By submitting User Content to the Services, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, display, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and improving the Services.

You retain the right to use your own creative ideas elsewhere, but any content stored on or generated through our platform is subject to this license. For copyright concerns, see our DMCA Policy.

4.2 AI-Generated Content and AI Disclosure

4.2.1 Content Safety and Moderation

We employ multiple layers of content safety measures to help ensure AI-generated content remains appropriate:

• System-level safety prompts — Our AI providers are configured with safety instructions that guide content generation toward appropriate themes and away from harmful content
• Provider safety classifiers — Our AI providers apply their own safety classifiers to AI inputs and outputs, which may flag or filter harmful content
• Game context boundaries — Questwright's AI is instructed to operate within the context of tabletop roleplaying and to decline requests that fall outside appropriate gameplay scenarios
• Usage monitoring — We monitor AI usage patterns to detect and address potential misuse of the platform

No content filtering system is perfect. If you encounter AI-generated content that is inappropriate, harmful, or offensive, please report it immediately using the methods described in Section 5.2.

4.3 Community Campaign Modules

Questwright allows you to create detailed custom campaign configurations, including world settings, locations, NPCs, factions, quest hooks, deities, and house rules ("Campaign Configurations").

From time to time, we may review Campaign Configurations that demonstrate exceptional creativity and quality. With your explicit consent, we may adapt your Campaign Configuration into a "Community Module" — a pre-made campaign available to other Questwright users.

If your Campaign Configuration is selected for a Community Module:

• We will contact you through your registered account to request permission before publishing
• You will be credited as the original creator within the module (by your display name or a name of your choosing)
• You may decline at any time — participation is entirely voluntary
• You retain the right to use your original creative ideas in any way you see fit outside of Questwright
• We may modify, expand, or adapt the configuration to work within the module system

Campaign Configurations that are not selected for Community Modules remain private to your account and are not shared with other users.

4.4 Game System Content and Third-Party Attributions

Questwright is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any game publisher, including but not limited to Wizards of the Coast, Paizo Inc., Evil Hat Productions, Chaosium Inc., Darrington Press, or One Seven Design.

Questwright supports multiple tabletop roleplaying game systems using freely licensed reference content (System Reference Documents) published under open licenses including CC-BY 4.0, CC-BY 3.0, the ORC License, and the Open Game License 1.0a. No proprietary setting material, adventures, or Product Identity is reproduced.

All game system names, trademarks, and associated marks are the property of their respective owners.

4.5 AI Service Quality and Resource Management

Questwright relies on third-party AI services that incur per-use costs. To maintain the Services for all users, we reserve the right to adjust the AI capabilities available to any user, campaign, or the platform as a whole at any time and without prior notice.

These adjustments may include, but are not limited to:

• Changing the AI model or provider used for narrative generation
• Reducing response length, detail, or complexity
• Applying per-user or per-campaign usage limits
• Throttling request frequency during high-demand periods
• Temporarily reducing service quality platform-wide to manage costs (sometimes referred to as "austerity mode")

We will make reasonable efforts to maintain a quality experience for all users, but no specific level of AI model quality, response detail, or availability is guaranteed. The Services are provided on a best-effort basis, and AI capabilities may vary based on overall platform usage, individual usage patterns, and operational costs.

4.6 Patent and Proprietary Technology

Certain technologies, methods, and systems used by Questwright are the subject of one or more patent applications filed by CrownForge LLC with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Patent Pending.

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or underlying methods of the Services.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

• Use the Services for any commercial purpose without our express written consent
• Use the Services to generate content for commercial sale or distribution
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or discriminate against other users
• Engage in bigotry, racism, sexism, or other hateful conduct toward other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the Services or servers
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Services without permission
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Services
• Circumvent any security measures or access restrictions
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

5.1 In-Game vs. Player Conduct

We understand that tabletop RPGs involve fictional scenarios that may include conflict, villains, and mature themes. There is a clear distinction between in-game fiction and player conduct.

While your characters may encounter or portray morally complex situations within the game narrative, player-to-player harassment, bigotry, racism, sexism, or other hateful conduct is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination.

5.2 Reporting Concerns

If you encounter inappropriate content, harmful AI behavior, or player misconduct, you can report it through:

• Discord: Report in our Questwright Discord Server via the appropriate channel

We review all reports and will take appropriate action, which may include content removal, account warnings, or account termination depending on severity. We aim to acknowledge reports within 48 hours.

5.3 Responsible AI Use

When interacting with AI-powered features in Questwright, please keep the following in mind:

• AI is not a person — The Dungeon Master and other AI features are language models, not sentient beings. They do not have feelings, memories outside of your current session context, or personal opinions.
• Don't share sensitive information — Avoid sharing real personal information (phone numbers, addresses, financial details) in your game conversations. The AI doesn't need it and it may be processed by our AI providers.
• AI can be wrong — AI-generated content may contain factual errors, inconsistencies, or unexpected responses. Don't rely on AI outputs for real-world decisions.
• Report problems — If the AI generates something harmful, offensive, or concerning, report it so we can improve our safety measures.

6. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your CrownForge account at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. Because your CrownForge account provides access to all CrownForge services, suspension or termination applies across all products.

Specific violations that will result in immediate termination and permanent ban include:

• Harassment or hateful conduct toward other users
• Bigotry, racism, sexism, or discrimination against other users
• Attempting to hack, exploit, or compromise the Services
• Commercial use without authorization
• Violating any applicable laws
• Any other violation of these Terms

During the beta period, we may also terminate accounts for operational reasons, including but not limited to managing server capacity, testing features, or making changes to the Services.

Upon termination, your right to use all CrownForge Services ceases immediately. We may delete your account data at our discretion.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

7.1 Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge and agree that:

• You use the Services at your own risk
• Beta software may contain bugs that could cause data loss or other issues
• AI-generated content may be inaccurate, offensive, or otherwise problematic
• The Services may be discontinued at any time
• We are not responsible for any content generated by the AI or other users
• We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on content from the Services

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CrownForge LLC, its operators, affiliates, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with:

• Your use of the Services
• Your User Content
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

9. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall take place in Pennsylvania, United States, and shall be conducted in English.

You agree to waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against CrownForge LLC.

Notwithstanding the above, we may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement of our intellectual property rights.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

12. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CrownForge LLC regarding your use of the Services and supersede any prior agreements. These Terms do not alter, amend, or supersede any separate written agreement you may have entered into with CrownForge LLC (such as a consulting, services, or enterprise agreement). In the event of a conflict between these Terms and a separate written agreement, the separate agreement shall control.
